Clyde McCullough jacked one out of the ballyard at Forbes Field where the
Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York AL Yankees in 10 innings by the score of
5 to 4.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Pittsburgh came out the
victor in the 10th inning. Don Lund drew a walk. After an out was recorded,
Joe Garagiola stepped in and he slapped a base-hit. Carlos Bernier then
would hit into a force play giving Pittsburgh the win and sending the home
town fans into a frenzy. Pittsburgh banged out 11 hits on the night.
Johnny Hetki(5-6) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Ray Herbert(1-4)
suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks in 1 and 2/3
innings.

Joe Adcock had 3 base hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the New York AL

Pittsburgh took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning when they scored 2 runs

Pittsburgh never recovered after New York AL took the lead in the 2nd inning
