In spite of the claims that it balences out in the long run, the only teams that benefit in a lottery are the teams that weren't good enough to make the playoffs but were too good to be in the early draft picks. Teams with the poorer records have nothing to gain, as they would have had an early pick anyw ay. Just for the record, my feelings on the matter would be the same even if I had received the best pick and someone else were in the position I'm in. The decision to leave occured when I went back and checked the league constitution regarding the draft. It says, and I quote: "Effective with the 1953 draft, the lottery results will apply to round 1 and from rounds 2 on the order will be determined by the reverse order of the previous season's standings." I assume no one else cares whether the constitution is followed or not but I do. In order to not leave the league without an owner as we move into the draft, I will remain with the league until a new owner is found, even to the point of playing the 1952 season. I'll leave as soon as a new owner is found or at the end of the 1952 season, whichever comes first. I carry no ill feelings toward you or anyone in the league, but as I'm sure everyone feels, if you don't enjoy a league, it's time to get out. Stan
