They almost ran out of baseballs at Briggs Stadium as Detroit Tigers clobbered
the New York AL Yankees pitching staff, scoring 12 runs while Jim
Wilson(2-1), with relief help from Turk Lown, surrendered 3 runs to New York
AL.
Dick Kryhoski helped send the fans home happy.  He smashed a two-run homer in
the 2nd inning, slapped a base-hit resulting in a run in the 3rd inning and
ripped a base-knock scoring two baserunners in the 5th inning.  Detroit ended
up with 14 hits for the game while New York AL had 11.
Allie Reynolds(2-1) was the loser.  He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.
