The Montreal Expos registered 4 runs in the 5th inning and nipped the
Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings 10 to 9 at Olympic Stadium in a hard fought
contest.

The score was knotted at 9 after nine innings.  Montreal came out on top in
the 10th inning.  Del Unser lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 5th of the
season) giving Montreal the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
Montreal banged out 15 on the night.  

Steve Foucault(3-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Gene Garber(1-4) in relief.  He allowed Montreal 3 runs in 2
innings of work.

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Montreal Expos by a score of 5 to 2 at
Olympic Stadium.

Pittsburgh came up with 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning with the help of 3
hits.  Richie Zisk initiated the scoring when he delivered a solo blast (his
13th of the season).  Duffy Dyer came to the plate and lined a one-base hit.
Frank Taveras then tripled driving in one more runner.  Jerry Reuss was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Phil Garner stepped into the box and
would ground out scoring the final run of the inning.  Pittsburgh banged out
7 on the night.  

Reuss(4-8) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Reuss got help
from Grant Jackson who was credited with his 4th save.  Steve Rogers(6-4) was
hit with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk.

Richie Zisk hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the
Montreal Expos by a score of 8 to 3.

Montreal was unable to recover after Pittsburgh went ahead in the 5th inning
as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits.  Pittsburgh finished with 13 hits while
Montreal ended up with 9.  

John Candelaria(6-5) allowed 1 run in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Frank Tanana(8-7) absorbed the loss.  He gave up 6 runs and 9 hits in 7
innings.

The Pittsburgh Pirates edged the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium by the
score of 3 to 2.

Pittsburgh had 2 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning when they
had 3 base hits.  They would be enough to earn the win.  Pittsburgh and
Montreal each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.  

The victory went to Jackie Brown(5-6) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Gene Garber gained credit for his 10th save.  Vida Blue(7-7) was given the
loss.
