july 7 Joe Morgan cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Riverfront Stadium where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7 to 5. In the 2nd inning Cincinnati scored 4 runs with the help of 4 hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. Cincinnati finished with 10 hits in the victory. Milt Wilcox(4-3) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Joe Sambito recorded his 9th save. Don Aase(5-2) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 6 innings. Cincinnati now has a record of a division leading 58-34. Los Angeles can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
