july 15 Dave Kingman slammed 2 homeruns at Three Rivers Stadium where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6 to 4. Los Angeles jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Ron Cey who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he clubbed a three-run home run (his 20th of the season). Los Angeles rapped out 7 hits for the night. Don Aase(6-2) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Mike Garman was credited with his 10th save. Jim Rooker(10-6) was given the loss. He pitched 8 innings giving up 6 hits and 2 walks.
