Dave Kingman slammed 2 homeruns at Three Rivers Stadium where the Los Angeles
Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6 to 4.

Los Angeles jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored
4 runs on 5 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Ron Cey who deflated
the mood of the partisan fans when he clubbed a three-run home run (his 20th
of the season).  Los Angeles rapped out 7 hits for the night.

Don Aase(6-2) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Mike Garman
was credited with his 10th save.  Jim Rooker(10-6) was given the loss.  He
pitched 8 innings giving up 6 hits and 2 walks.

Dave Parker blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates
outscored the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings 8 to 7.

The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Pittsburgh came out on top in
the 10th inning.  Frank Taveras led off and started the rally when he
doubled.  After an out was recorded, Parker came to the plate and lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run (his 21st of the season).  Bill
Robinson then lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 23rd of the season)
resulting in an exciting win for Pittsburgh and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans.  Pittsburgh finished with 11 hits in the
victory.

The win was credited to Grant Jackson(3-2) who went 1 inning allowing 2 runs.
Mike Garman(4-4) was the loser in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and no walks in
1/3 of an inning.
