Game 1 Catcher Gary Carter smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Montreal Expos topped the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 12 to 5 at Dodger Stadium.
The Los Angeles fans didn't appreciate the big day Carter had. He lined a one-base hit in the 2nd inning, delivered a single in the 4th inning, ripping a solo home run in the 5th inning and bombed a two-run dinger (his 27th of the season) in the 6th inning. Montreal dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.
Larry Christenson (8-7) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Bill Atkinson recorded his 1st save. Tommy John (7-8) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
Montreal now has a record of 68-47. With this loss, Los Angeles has a 3-7 record of late, 58-57 overall.
Game 2 Mike Schmidt rocketed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Montreal Expos defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by the score of 10 to 7 at Dodger Stadium.
Schmidt propelled Montreal to victory. He stroked a single scoring a run in the 1st inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his 34th of the season) in the 3rd inning. For the game Montreal out-hit Los Angeles 17 to 12.
Steve Rogers (15-5) went 8 innings allowing 7 runs for the victory. Rogers got help from Joe Kerrigan who earned his 2nd save. Don Aase (7-3) took the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 2 innings.

Game 3 Frank Tanana pitched a complete game and Mike Schmidt connected with a 'big fly' at Dodger Stadium where the Montreal Expos beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7 to 1.
Montreal started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first scoring one runner using 3 hits. Montreal rapped out 11 hits for the night.
Tanana (13-9) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Don Sutton (7-11) absorbed the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 6 hits in 5 innings.
Game 4 Catcher Gary Carter hit a homerun at Dodger Stadium as the Montreal Expos beat the Los Angeles Dodgers by the count of 7 to 4.
Vida Blue (12-11) had a fairly solid outing. He was reached for 12 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 1/3 innings. Montreal rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon.
Blue got help from Joe Kerrigan who earned his 3rd save. Rick Rhoden (8-9) was the loser. He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings.
