april 27

The Kansas City A's registered 4 runs in the 3rd inning and easily topped the
New York AL Yankees; the final score was 8 to 3.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Dick Allen.  He belted a three-run homer (his 6th of the season)
in the 1st inning and doubled in the 7th inning.  Kansas City rapped out 9
hits for the night.

Mike McCormick(5-2) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Ken
Sanders was credited with his 1st save.  Al Downing(0-4) ended up with the
loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 7 hits and 4 walks in 3 innings.
