Angeles Dodgers 14 to 1.

New York NL started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring 3 runs using 4 hits.  Lee Mazzilli got things going when he
banged out a single.  After an out was recorded, Reggie Smith came up and he
doubled.  Leon Roberts then slapped a single knocking in a run.  After
another out, Keith Hernandez stepped in and he doubled as another two runners
scored.  That was all the runs Swan(2-3) needed.  New York NL had 19 hits for
the game and Los Angeles had 7.

Jim Colborn(1-2) was tagged with the loss.  He gave up 6 runs in 4 innings of

In a tight game it was the Los Angeles Dodgers 9, the New York NL Mets 7 at
Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 3 runs on
3 hits.  Dusty Baker led off and keyed the rally when he delivered a single.
Roger Metzger stepped into the batter's box and he stroked a base-hit.  Chet
Lemon struck out, unable to help the rally.  Buck Martinez came up and he
reached on an error which scored a run.  Don Sutton came to the plate and
laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Terry Puhl added to the outburst and laced a
single adding another two runs to their total.  Los Angeles finished with 14
hits while New York NL ended up with 8.

The win was credited to Sutton(2-1) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 7
runs. Terry Forster gained credit for his 5th save.  Don Aase(0-1) ended up
with the loss.  He allowed Los Angeles 7 runs in 3 innings of work.
