Garvey had a big day at the plate. He doubled in the 4th inning and caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam homerun (his 5th of the season) in the 5th inning. Los Angeles had a total of 17 hits for the game. Hooton(4-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Steve Carlton(2-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings. |
