Bob Locker came through with a solid 3 innings as the Chicago AL White Sox
defeated the Washington Senators in 10 innings by the score of 6 to 4 at D.
C. Stadium.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Chicago AL won the game in the 10th
inning.  The key at-bat was by Don Buford who disappointed the partisan crowd
when he slapped a one-base hit which was good for two runs.  Chicago AL
managed 8 in their victory.

The victory went to Hoyt Wilhelm(2-0) who went 2 innings, allowing 2 runs. The
losing pitcher was Frank Kreutzer(1-2) in relief.  He was pinned with the
loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.

The Washington Senators edged the Chicago AL White Sox at D. C. Stadium by the
score of 3 to 2.

The game was won by Washington with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
Ken Harrelson banged out a single.  Paul Casanova was a strikeout victim,
unable to help out.  Hoyt Wilhelm then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed.
Ken McMullen came up and he delivered a base-hit scoring the run.  Casey Cox
was great in relief and recorded his 6th save.

Phil Ortega(4-1) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. The losing
