june 12 In a good matchup it was the Los Angeles Dodgers 5, the St. Louis Cardinals 3 at Busch Stadium. Bob Welch(2-3) pitched well enough to earn the win. He allowed 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. St. Louis threatened in the 9th but Los Angeles was able to put down the rally. Welch got help from Terry Forster who was credited with his 10th save. Bob Forsch(8-8) was tagged with the loss. Los Angeles now has a record of 33-38. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, St. Louis is 2-8 lately and 32-39 on the year.
