I think the point here is that a screen would pop up saying "defined starter not available" before game 4. Otherwise there would be no reason to check any of the other items.

I don't even check another team's active players, line ups, or starters.  I
assume there are correct.

Let alone contact the manager!  LOL!

Does that mean if we find that a starting pitcher that is not active, that
we can continue to proceed with letting HAL select the pitcher, instead of
trying to contact the manager ?

If so, than is it true that I really wasn't compelled to contact NYA when
their starter was not
eligible ?

Just looking for clarification thats all.
