APRIL 6

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves by a score of 4 to 1 at
Fulton Co. Stadium.

Los Angeles had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 6th inning when they
had 3 base hits.  The key at-bat was by Ron Cey who silenced Fulton Co.
Stadium as he lofted a three-run bomb (his 1st of the season).  Atlanta could
do no damage in the bottom of the 9th.

Jerry Reuss(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Bob Welch was
credited with his 1st save.  Phil Niekro(0-1) absorbed the loss.  He pitched
9 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 walks.

APRIL 7

Pete Rose hit 2doubles and had 2 RBI and Joe Niekro was able to finish what
he started and was credited with a complete game as the Atlanta Braves
outscored the Los Angeles Dodgers 7 to 1.

Atlanta started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits.  That early run support was enough
for Niekro(1-0) and Atlanta.  Atlanta managed 13 in their victory.

Don Sutton(0-1) was given the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
