APRIL 9 George Foster rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Riverfront Stadium as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost a heartbreaker to streaking Cincinnati Reds by the score of 4 to 3. Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After two were out Dave Concepcion became the sole author of the rally when he cracked a bases-empty home run (his 5th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Cincinnati and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Los Angeles had 11 hits in the game while Cincinnati had 7, but Cincinnati had the more timely hits. The win was credited to Mark Clear(2-0) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs. Tom Griffin(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
