New York AL had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Smith who quieted the home crowd when he delivered a base-hit scoring two baserunners. Both teams finished the game with 7 hits. Dooley Womack(4-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Hal Reniff got the save, his 4th. The losing pitcher was Joe Hoerner(0-3) in relief. St. Louis' manager was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure New York AL's manager will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.' "Vulture" Womack picks up another win.......
