World Series game 1 - both starting pitchers got lit up as the wind was blowing out at Fenway. The Dodgers score in each of the first 5 innings to take a 10-7 lead. Robin Roberts comes out of the pen to settle things down as he throws 4 2/3 shutout innings for the win. Boston outhit Brooklyn but Brooklyn hit 3 homers - two by Campy who also drove in 4 runs for the Dodgers. Boston left 15 runners on base. With the win Brooklyn takes a 1-0 game lead in the series.

Catcher Roy Campanella rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Fenway Park where
the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Boston AL Red Sox 12 to 7.
Campanella had a good day at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 5th inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 9th
inning. Offensively, Brooklyn was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate
innings.
Robin Roberts(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 4 and 2/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Mel Parnell(0-1). He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 12 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
