Preacher Roe pitches a game for the books as he allows only a 7th inning single to Johnny Pesky and shuts out the Boston Red Sox for a 1-0 victory. The single came on an Eddie Robinson x-play and he added an error to put Pesky at second with nobody. But Roe retired Boudreau, DiMaggio and Williams to preserve the shutout. Mickey Harris allows just a single run in the second over seven innings and it makes me sick to think we held the Dodgers to a single run only to lose the game. Wasted opportunity. I need a tip on how to align the box score properly.
