The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants by a score of 8 to 4
at Candlestick Park.
 
Los Angeles promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they scored
3 runs on 3 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Ken Landreaux who
silenced the stadium when he smacked a three-run homer (his 12th of the
season).  Los Angeles ended up with 12 hits for the game while San Francisco
had 5. 
 
Don Sutton(9-12) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Lynn McGlothen(8-9)
was hit with the loss.  He pitched 6 innings giving up 6 hits and 1
walk.

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 6 to 2
at Candlestick Park.
 
In the bottom of the 5th inning San Francisco scored 3 runs when they had 4
base hits.  The big moment was provided by Vida Blue who came through for the
home fans when he doubled scoring two baserunners.  For the game San
Francisco out-hit Los Angeles 11 to 7. 
 
Blue(6-13) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Doug Bair earned his 3rd
save.  Burt Hooton(11-4) was the loser.  He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 6
innings.
