Bill Buckner collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat at Wrigley Field where
the Chicago NL Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7 to 5.

The Chicago NL fans enjoyed the offense provided by Buckner.  He lined a
one-base hit in the 2nd inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 9th of the
season) in the 5th inning and doubled in the 8th inning.  Chicago NL finished
with 9 hits in the victory.

Bill Bonham(10-12) allowed 5 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory.
Bruce Sutter earned the save, his 35th.  Ed Figueroa(4-9) absorbed the loss.
He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.

'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Bonham said,
'this was one of those times.'

AUGUST 25

Rick Reuschel(12-13) and Jerry Reuss(9-8) treated the Chicago NL fans to a
fine pitching duel at Wrigley Field.  The Chicago NL Cubs eventually emerged
as victors over the Los Angeles Dodgers by the score of 2 to 1.

Reuschel contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 3 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.  Chicago NL took care of Los
Angeles with no trouble in the 9th.

Bruce Sutter recorded the save, his 37th.
