May 19 Jim Morrison went deep and scored 3 times at Shea Stadium as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York NL Mets 7 to 1. Jerry Reuss(7-1) gave Los Angeles a solid outing. He was reached for 3 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings reducing his ERA from 3.07 to 2.78. Los Angeles simply wore out the New York NL pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.
