Boston AL plated all the runs they needed in the 6th inning when they scored 6 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Sam Mele who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he lined a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning. Tex Hughson(14-8) allowed 1 run in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Hank Borowy(8-8) absorbed the loss. He gave up 5 runs and 5 hits in 5 innings.
