Subject: ^^^ RESULTS ^^^ Los Angeles @ San Francisco

JULY 7

Jim Morrison had 2 base hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the lifeless
San Francisco Giants in 10 innings by the score of 7 to 4 at Candlestick
Park.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Los Angeles won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning.  After two were out Steve Garvey kicked
off the action when he lashed a single.  Dusty Baker was next and he drew a
walk.  Ron Cey then smacked a three-run homer (his 12th of the season).  Los
Angeles out-hit San Francisco for the game, 13 hits to 9.

Tom Griffin(5-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Griffin got
help from Steve Howe who earned his 22nd save.  Alan Hargesheimer(1-3) took
the loss in relief.  He gave up 4 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings of work.

The Los Angeles ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 53-39.
With this loss, San Francisco has a 3-7 record of late, 31-61, worst in the
division overall.

22,724 fans watched an exciting game at Candlestick Park.  The San Francisco
Giants topped the Los Angeles Dodgers by the slimmest of margins, 5 to
4.

Lynn McGlothen(5-9) gave San Francisco a solid outing.  He allowed 7 hits and
