At Olympic Stadium the incredible Montreal Expos outscored the Los Angeles
Dodgers 6 to 3.
 
Los Angeles was unable to claim the lead after Montreal went ahead in the
bottom of the 5th inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits.  Montreal totaled
8 on the night. 
 
The win was credited to David Palmer(2-2) who went 8 innings allowing 3 runs.
Woodie Fryman gained credit for his 23rd save.  Burt Hooton(6-7) was the
loser.

Ed Whitson delivered 8 and two third solid innings as the amazing Montreal
Expos topped the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 3 to 1 at Olympic
Stadium.
 
Los Angeles surrendered all of the runs Montreal needed in the 2nd inning
scoring 3 runners on 3 hits.  That early scoring held up.  After the 2nd
inning, neither team was able to score. 
 
The win was credited to Whitson(11-1) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 1
run. Woodie Fryman was credited with his 24th save.  Gordie Pladson(0-1)
suffered the loss.  He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

Scott Sanderson was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Olympic Stadium as the mighty Montreal Expos beat the Los
Angeles Dodgers 3 to 2.
 
Los Angeles was unable to recover after Montreal went ahead in the bottom of
the 7th inning scoring a single run.  Montreal took care of Los Angeles with
no trouble in the 9th. 
 
Sanderson(14-3) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Jerry
Reuss(11-8) was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 3 runs and 7 hits in 7
innings.

Steve Rogers allowed Steve Bivens to rest his bullpen, tossing acomplete game
and center fielder Andre Dawson collected 3 extra-base hits and scored 3
times as the dominant Montreal Expos topped the struggling Los Angeles
Dodgers by a score of 7 to 2 at Olympic Stadium.
 
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Montreal scored 4 runs with the help of 3
hits.  That early scoring held up.  Montreal had just 6 hits for the
afternoon. 
 
Rogers(15-4) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Bob Welch(9-6)
was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.
