JULY 18 At Olympic Stadium the incredible Montreal Expos outscored the Los Angeles Dodgers 6 to 3. Los Angeles was unable to claim the lead after Montreal went ahead in the bottom of the 5th inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. Montreal totaled 8 on the night. The win was credited to David Palmer(2-2) who went 8 innings allowing 3 runs. Woodie Fryman gained credit for his 23rd save. Burt Hooton(6-7) was the loser.
