Game 1 Manny Trillo had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the blistering-hot Montreal Expos defeated the Cincinnati Reds 10 to 5 at Riverfront Stadium.
The game started off with Montreal taking the lead in the first as they scored 5 runs on 5 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Gary Carter who silenced the stadium when he doubled bringing in two baserunners. Montreal and Cincinnati each finished the night with 13 hits.

It was another victory for Montreal at Riverfront Stadium. Now their winning streak stands at 7 games.
Game 2
Manny Trillo had 3 base hits and David Palmer pitched 5 strong innings as the blistering-hot Montreal Expos defeated the ice-cold Cincinnati Reds 7 to 0 at Riverfront Stadium.
Montreal took the lead for good in the 5th inning plating an isolated run. Ivan Dejesus was hit by a pitch. Dejesus was safe on a stolen base. Palmer then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Ron Leflore followed and he lined a single scoring the run. For the game Montreal out-hit Cincinnati 12 to 3.
Palmer (3-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 5 innings. Mike Proly recorded the save, his 3rd. Tom Seaver (7-9) was given the loss.
Montreal continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 8 games and counting. 'We're running on all cylinders now', said Steve Bivens. 'I probably shouldn't change a thing and let the guys continue to put up the wins.'
Game 3 Shortstop Dave Concepcion blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Montreal Expos by a score of 4 to 2.
Mario Soto (8-4) had a solid outing for Cincinnati . He surrendered 4 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Soto got help from Joe Sambito who pitched great and earned his 12th save.
Ed Whitson (12-2) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Cincinnati offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Game 4 The Cincinnati Reds offense put up 7 runs on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning and had an easy time of it at Riverfront Stadium defeating the Montreal Expos by a score of 13 to 8.
George Foster enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He stroked a one-base hit which was good for two runs in the 2nd inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his 14th of the season) in the 8th inning. Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for Montreal to come away with the victory.
J.R. Richard (4-2) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 runs for the win. Joe Sambito recorded the save, his 13th. Steve Rogers (16-5) was tagged with the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and allowed 7 walks in 3 innings.
