august 7 Ron Cey hit one over the fence as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago NL Cubs by a score of 4 to 2 at Wrigley Field. Burt Hooton(9-7) delivered a fine performance for Los Angeles. He allowed 7 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. Hooton got help from Steve Howe who pitched great and earned his 27th save. The losing pitcher was Willie Hernandez(0-8) in relief.
