Game 2 is in the books and it was intense:
Reggie Smith belted a grand slam off Tom Griffin in the bottom of the 11th inning breaking a scoreless tie and leading the Expos to a 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in game two of the NLCS. Bill Gullickson and Don Sutton matched zeros for 8 innings with neither team mounting much of a threat. Sutton pitched into the 11th inning when he gave up a single to pinch-hitter John Tamargo with one out. Ron Leflore was brought in to run for Tamargo and promptly stole 2nd base. Sutton then got Dawson to fly to center for the 2nd out. Hal Vanson then pulled Sutton to bring in Tom Griffin. Griffin walked both Jason Thompson and Mike Schmidt before Reggie Smith drove one over the right-centerfield fence for the win. Mike Proly (1-0) got the victory for pitching a scoreless 11th and Don Sutton (0-1) took the loss despite allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks in 10 2/3 innings.
