The potent San Francisco Giants nipped the Chicago NL Cubs in 10 innings 3 to
2 at Wrigley Field in a hard fought contest.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  San Francisco ended up
winning it in the 10th inning.  Jim Ray Hart delivered a solo blast (his 28th
of the season).  San Francisco finished with 7 hits in the victory.  

The win was credited to Orlando Pena(4-5) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Larry Jackson(12-14) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 7 hits and 3
walks in 10 innings.

Ron Santo hit a homerun and Ernie Broglio delivered 4 solid innings as the
Chicago NL Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings by a score of 7
to 6.

The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings.  Chicago NL came out the
victor in the 10th inning.  Ernie Banks stroked a single, and an error was
also committed.  Jimmy Stewart was next and he laced a one-base hit giving
Chicago NL the victory and sending the 15,042 home-town fans home happy.
Chicago NL had 15 hits for the afternoon while San Francisco had 9.  

The win went to Jim Owens(5-3) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Frank Linzy(1-4) in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 3 hits
and no walks.
