Don Buford had 5 hits and 3 RBI at Fenway Park where the strong Chicago AL
White Sox beat the Boston Red Sox 10 to 8.
 
Chicago AL scored the deciding run in the top of the 8th inning.  Wayne Causey
doubled.  Tommie Agee followed and he doubled scoring the run.  Chicago AL
bats were very productive in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 5
hits and the 3rd inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 5 hits.  Bob Locker
was great in relief and recorded his 15th save. 
 
Jack Kralick(7-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. The loss was
charged to Bill Short(4-4) in relief.  Chicago AL now has a record of a
division leading 90-62.  Boston has a record of 65-87 after the loss.

the incredible Chicago AL White Sox beat the Boston Red Sox by the score of 4
to 0.
 
Chicago AL claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits.  That early run support was enough for Tommy
John(12-13) and Chicago AL.  Chicago AL finished with 9 hits in the victory.
 
Jose Santiago(9-10) was given the loss.  He surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks in

at Fenway Park.
 
In the top of the 6th inning Chicago AL scored 3 runs with the help of 4 hits.
The key at-bat was by Pete Ward who helped quiet the crowd when he stroked a
one-base hit which was good for two runs.  Chicago AL managed 10 in their
victory. 
 
The victory was credited to Ray Herbert(2-1) who went 5 innings, allowing 2
runs. Dennis Higgins recorded his 2nd save.  The losing pitcher was Lee
Stange(3-13).

Right fielder Tony Conigliaro launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Dave
Giusti was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago AL White Sox 6 to
1.
 
Conigliaro helped send the fans home happy.  He smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' in the 1st inning and bombed a two-run dinger (his 41st of the
season) in the 7th inning.  Boston managed 13 in their victory. 
 
The win was credited to Giusti(13-9) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
The loss was charged to Gary Peters(17-6).  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 3
innings.
