Subject: Expos at Mets Week 18

I will have to issue a new manager after we get our home results for week 18.

Game 1

Mike Scott (12-9) and Steve Rogers (13-7) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with

Scott and the New York NL Mets coming out on top of the Montreal Expos 2 to 1.

New York NL took the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring one

run utilizing 2 base hits.  Montreal made it exciting in the 9th, but they

were unable to push the needed runs across.

Scott got relief help from Neil Allen who gained credit for his 17th save.

Game 2

Center fielder Andre Dawson went deep as the Montreal Expos defeated the New

York NL Mets in 10 innings 7 to 6 at SHEA STADIUM.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings.  Montreal won it in

the 10th inning.  Dawson ripped a solo home run (his 35th of the season).

Montreal had 10 hits for the night.

Jeff Reardon (8-6) went 3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Don Aase (5-8)

ended up with the loss in relief.  He was unable to retire a batter and

surrendered 1 hit and no walks.

Game 3

Third baseman Mike Schmidt smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Montreal

Expos outscored the New York NL Mets 5 to 3.

Schmidt had a good evening at the plate.  He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st

inning and belted a three-run homer (his 46th of the season) in the 8th

inning.  New York NL had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The win went to Pete Redfern (9-7) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Redfern got

help from Jeff Reardon who was credited with his 28th save.  Steve

Carlton (12-12) was given the loss.  He allowed just 3 hits and no walks in 7

innings.

Game 4

Greg Harris pitched a complete game as the New York NL Mets defeated the

Montreal Expos 9 to 1 at SHEA STADIUM.

New York NL scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the help of 7

hits.  That scoring would be all that was needed.  New York NL totaled 10 on

the afternoon.

The win was credited to Harris (5-5) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.

Scott Sanderson (13-4) suffered the loss.  He was knocked around pretty good,

giving up all 6 runs in the 2nd inning.
