September 7 Bob Welch came through with a solid 7 innings as the amazing Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres by a score of 7 to 2. After an out was recorded, Larry Herndon ripped a solo home run (his 5th of the season) resulting in a mighty exciting win for San Diego and the 46,862 home town fans in attendance.
