Subject: Twins sweep White Sox

Chicago players paying a little more attention to their Series shares than the ball games.  So, of course the first two games went extra innings.  Dick Farrell gives up 6 homers in Game 4 - must be a record!

Jason - Battey is down to 3 PA.  I held him out of game 4.

WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Joe Morgan robbed Al Weis of a base hit.

Jim Merritt struck out 11 batters and right fielder Tony Oliva lofted one into
the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI at Metropolitan Stadium as the Minnesota
Twins beat the Chicago AL White Sox by the count of 4 to 2.

Merritt(10-4) pitched well for Minnesota in their victory.  He went 7 and 2/3
innings surrendering 4 hits and 4 walks.  Minnesota had 11 hits for the night
while Chicago AL had 4.

Al Worthington recorded his 33rd save.  Jack Lamabe(1-5) absorbed the loss.
He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 10 hits and 1 walk.

When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Merritt offered, 'The fan's
really got into it.  It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up
there in the stands.  Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it
would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
