Third baseman Frenchy Bordagaray hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI at
Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn Dodgers won in their last at-bat beating the
Boston NL Braves by the count of 12 to 11.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. Bordagaray tripled. Jimmy Wasdell
next to the plate and he stroked a one-base hit making Brooklyn the victor
and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Brooklyn had 16 hits for the
night.
Don Black(9-6) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Joe
Berry(3-4) was the loser in relief.
