April 8 Shortstop Rafael Ramirez went yard as the Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 6 to 3. Atlanta went ahead for good in the 3rd inning plating an isolated run. Los Angeles threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Rick Mahler(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Pascual Perez recorded the save, his 1st. After an out was recorded, Bob Horner cracked a solo homerun (his 1st of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Atlanta and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.
