Congratulations Jon Fellows on a nice job assembling the champion White Sox. A true Cinderella story since you had just about given up on them early in the season. That being said I look forward to brutalizing the Sox in the coming years for destroying my Tigers in 1966 by taking 14 of 18 games from them and blazing through the autoplay portion at an amazing 39-13 clip.

Jim Gentile wins the World Series MVP award with 3 HR.  Gary Peters finishes the Series with a one-hitter.  The pitchers dominated as only 20 runs were scored in the 5 games.

Sox topped the San Francisco Giants by a score of 2 to 1 at Comiskey
Park.

Chicago AL had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with the

then slapped a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning.  The game was a
scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

Gary Peters took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Chicago AL White Sox
topped the San Francisco Giants by a score of 3 to 0 at Comiskey
Park.

Peters(1-1) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
San Francisco batters.  He didn't give up much, just 1 hit and 1 walk in 9
innings.  Peters chalked up 11 strikeouts lowering his ERA to 1.15.  The
left-handed Peters lost his chance for a no-hitter when Tommy Davis doubled
with nobody out in the 7th inning.  Chicago AL rapped out 7 hits for the
afternoon.

Gaylord Perry(0-2) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 7
and 1/3 innings.  Peters was pleased with his performance.  He noted, 'I had
good zip on my pitches.  Just as important, my location was right on.  The
fans really got into the game too - that always helps me.  Now, if I can only
do that again in my next outing.'
