august 25 Right fielder Pedro Guerrero had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants in 12 innings by a score of 6 to 2 at Candlestick Park. The score was tied at 2 after nine. Los Angeles ended up winning it in the 12th inning. The big moment was provided by Dusty Baker who helped quiet the crowd when he doubled plating two runs. For the game Los Angeles out-hit San Francisco 17 to 10. Steve Howe(4-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Fred Breining(2-2) was given the loss in relief. He was unable to control the Los Angeles offense and allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings. Los Angeles now has a record of a division leading 81-58.
