Right fielder Pedro Guerrero had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers
defeated the San Francisco Giants in 12 innings by a score of 6 to 2 at
Candlestick Park.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Los Angeles ended up winning it in the
12th inning.  The big moment was provided by Dusty Baker who helped quiet the
crowd when he doubled plating two runs.  For the game Los Angeles out-hit San
Francisco 17 to 10.

Steve Howe(4-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Fred
Breining(2-2) was given the loss in relief.  He was unable to control the Los
Angeles offense and allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.

Los Angeles now has a record of a division leading 81-58.  San Francisco has a
record of 50-89, worst in the division after the loss.

With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, San Francisco Giants came
from behind to top Los Angeles Dodgers, 5 to 4.

San Francisco had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 4
runners on 3 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Chili Davis who
excited the crowd when he emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his
11th of the season).  Both teams totaled 9 on the night.

The victory was credited to Al Holland(5-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Tom Niedenfuer(5-5) was charged with the loss in relief.

'What a game!,' Holland said afterward.  'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'

In a tight game it was the Los Angeles Dodgers 6, the pitiful San Francisco
Giants 4 at Candlestick Park.
