Subject: **** RESULTS *** Dodgers @ Reds

April 28

Right fielder Mike Marshall slammed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI at RIVERFRONT
STADIUM as the Los Angeles Dodgers, running on all cylinders, ripped the
Cincinnati Reds by a large 17 to 5 margin.

Marshall provided much of the offense.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 4th inning, cracked a two-run shot (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th
inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 9th inning.  Los
Angeles provided plenty of action in the 8th inning with 7 runs on 7 hits.
Los Angeles ended up with 19 hits for the game while Cincinnati had 7.

The victory went to Alejandro Pena(2-2) who went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Milt Wilcox(1-1) was hit with the loss.  Marshall was jubilant after the game
'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I want to see how that game looks on
paper.'

Fernando Valenzuela allowed 2 hits while blanking Cincinnati as the Los
Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 1 to
0.

Valenzuela(2-4) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the Cincinnati batters.  He allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings
lowering his ERA from 4.14 to 3.33.  Cincinnati could do no damage in the
bottom of the 9th.

Bruce Berenyi(2-2) absorbed the loss.  When questioned about his counterpart
after the game, Berenyi was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early
on that we were going to be in for a long night.  Valenzuela brought his 'A'
game with him - he had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly.  He
probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire game!
