In a thriller the St. Louis Cardinals staged a dramatic comeback over the Los
Angeles Dodgers winning by a score of 7 to 6 at BUSCH STADIUM.

St. Louis had the game winning rally in the 9th inning when they scored 6 runs
on 6 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by George Hendrick who
brought a roar from the partisan BUSCH STADIUM fans when he lined a one-base
hit bringing in two baserunners.  St. Louis had 15 hits for the afternoon
while Los Angeles had 10.

Roy Lee Jackson(4-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Tom
Niedenfuer(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  'What a game!,' Jackson
said afterward.  'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
