June 13

At WRIGLEY FIELD the Los Angeles Dodgers easily handled the Chicago NL Cubs by
the score of 8 to 4.

Los Angeles tallied 5 runs in the top of the 3rd inning when they had 6 base
hits.  That early scoring was all that Mike Torrez(7-7) needed.  For the game
Los Angeles out-hit Chicago NL 13 to 10.

Pete Falcone(0-6) took the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in
2 and 1/3 innings.

Right fielder Mike Marshall had 2 base hits and Alejandro Pena camethrough
with a solid 7 innings at WRIGLEY FIELD where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat
the ice-cold Chicago NL Cubs by the score of 5 to 2.

In the 6th inning Los Angeles went on top for good plating an isolated run on
2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Marshall ripped a base-knock.  Pedro
Guerrero stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Greg Brock then slapped
a single scoring the run.  Brock took second on the throw.  Los Angeles
out-hit Chicago NL for the game, 10 hits to 3.

Pena(5-3) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Pena was
helped out by Steve Howe who recorded his 6th save.  Dickie Noles(3-6)
absorbed the loss.

With this win, Los Angeles has a 39-34 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.
Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Chicago NL is 2-8 of late and now
has an overall record of 22-51, worst in the division.
