with the new look Dodgers coming into town next week, here's the final results from the 1983 opening day Dodgers as we knew and loved. July 27 Atlee Hammaker had a strong outing as the San Diego Padres defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 2 to 0 at San Diego Stadium. In the 2nd inning San Diego scored 2 runs. That early run support was enough for Hammaker(10-3) and San Diego. After the 2nd inning, neither team was able to score. Hammaker got help from Ron Reed who earned his 5th save. Alejandro Pena(9-6) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
