Mark Langston(3-8) thrilled the fans at The Kingdome as he crafted a no-hit
masterpiece against the Chicago AL White Sox. The Seattle Mariners won by a
final score of 2 to 0.

Langston was cheered on with every out from the 7th inning onward. The
adrenaline had to be just pumping through his veins. The atmosphere was
electric out there in Kingdome tonight! He walked 5 Chicago AL batters. The
tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Langston appeared
oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th.
Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the
mound. Seattle managed only 6 hits on the night.

Alejandro Pena(4-3) was charged with the loss. It took a while to pry
Langston way from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation
and joy. Finally, however, Jeff Tripodi got to offer his own congratulations
with a big bear hug and the comment, 'That was one of the best pitched games
I have seen in all my years in baseball - Langston was masterful out there
tonight!'
