JULY 14

Dave Collins had 2 base hitsand 2 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers topped the
Atlanta Braves by a score of 8 to 0 at Fulton Co. Stadium.
Los Angeles drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runs.  After an out was recorded, Ron Oester was the sparkplug when
he slapped a base-hit.  Joel Youngblood dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out.  Mike Scioscia then drew a walk.  Sixto Lezcano was up next and
he drew a walk to load the bases.  Bruce Bochte stepped into the box and
reached on an error.  Dave Concepcion struck out, unable to help the rally.
That early scoring was all that Jerry Reuss(10-6) needed.  Los Angeles had 14
hits for the night while Atlanta had 6.
Dennis Lamp earned the save, his 3rd.  Steve Bedrosian(4-13) was given the
loss.  He was knocked around by Los Angeles, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in
4 and 1/3 innings.

JULY 15

Orel Hershiser held Atlanta scoreless on just 2 hits and Sixto Lezcano had 2
base hits and 3 RBI at Fulton Co. Stadium where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat
the pathetic Atlanta Braves 5 to 0.
Hershiser(8-5) escaped virtually unscathed against the Atlanta hitters.  He
allowed only 2 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Los Angeles finished with 9
hits in the victory.
Rick Mahler(7-10) was tagged with the loss.  He gave up 7 hits and 2 walks in
7 and 2/3 innings.  'I've been working on a few things in my delivery, and I
think I'm hitting a good groove.' Hershiser said after the game.  'I'm ready
to start another game tomorrow!'
