At Busch Stadium the Los Angeles Dodgers offense put up 5 runs on the
scoreboard in the 1st inning and easily handled the St. Louis Cardinals by
the score of 7 to 3.
Los Angeles started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first when they tallied 5 runs on 5 hits. That was all the runs Mario
Soto(1-3) needed. Overall Los Angeles out-hit St. Louis 11 to 7.
Danny Cox(6-4) was given the loss. He gave up 5 runs and 5 hits in 1/3 of an
inning.

Andy Van Slyke lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and John Tudor hurled a 4
hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10
innings 2 to 1 at Busch Stadium.
The score was tied at 1 after nine. St. Louis came out on top in the 10th
inning. After an out was recorded, Vince Coleman lined a single. Coleman
took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. After another out, Dave
Anderson came up and he laced a base-hit making St. Louis the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful. St. Louis rapped out 10 hits for the
night.
Tudor(5-6) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. The losing pitcher was
Orel Hershiser(4-5). He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 9 and 1/3 innings.

Center fielder Willie McGee smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Bob Forsch
pitched a complete game as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles
Dodgers 7 to 2 at Busch Stadium.
McGee made sure the St. Louis fans enjoyed themselves. He cleared the fences
for a two-run home run in the 2nd inning and popped a two-run clout over the
fence (his 3rd of the season) in the 4th inning. St. Louis banged out 12
hits on the afternoon.
Forsch(4-6) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. The losing
pitcher was Fernando Valenzuela(6-4). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12
hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
