Andy Van Slyke lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and John Tudor hurled a 4
hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10
innings 2 to 1 at Busch Stadium.

The score was tied at 1 after nine.  St. Louis came out on top in the 10th

took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.  After another out, Dave
Anderson came up and he laced a base-hit making St. Louis the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful.  St. Louis rapped out 10 hits for the
night.

Tudor(5-6) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. The losing pitcher was
Orel Hershiser(4-5).  He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 9 and 1/3 innings.
