Subject: Expos at Dodgers Week 19

New manager attached.

Game 1

In a tight game it was the Los Angeles Dodgers 4, the Montreal Expos 2 at

Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles brought 2 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Overall Los Angeles out-hit Montreal 10 to 6.  The win went to Danny

Darwin (9-3) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Darwin was helped out by Lee

Smith who recorded his 23rd save.  Tim Burke (7-6) was the losing pitcher in

relief.

Game 2

Tim Raines had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Dodger Stadium as the Montreal Expos

staged a comeback win over the Los Angeles Dodgers by the count of 4 to

3.

Montreal won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs

utilizing 2 base hits.  Harold Baines opened up the inning nicely when he

drew a walk.  Two outs later Andres Galarraga stepped up to the plate and he

drew a walk.  Raines then doubled.  Tony Bernazard came up and he lined a

single.  Los Angeles was out-hit by Montreal , 10 hits to 7.

The victory was credited to Mark Huismann (6-3) who went 2 innings, allowing no

runs. Jeff Reardon earned his 28th save.  Danny Darwin (9-4) was the losing

pitcher in relief.

Darwin was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get

away.  What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans.  One

minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I

get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'

Game 3

In a lop-sided win the Los Angeles Dodgers ripped the Montreal Expos by a 9 to

4 count.

The Los Angeles fans enjoyed the offense provided by Reggie Williams.  He

lashed a single in the 4th inning, doubled with all three runners coming home

in the 5th inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 6th inning.  Los

Angeles had a total of 9 hits for the game.

Rick Honeycutt (8-8) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Greg Minton

was credited with his 4th save.  Neal Heaton (13-8) was hit with the loss.  He

was not very effective, surrendering 8 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.

'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Williams said.

'We played well together as a team.'

Game 4

Left fielder Tim Raines had 2 base hits as the Montreal Expos defeated the Los

Angeles Dodgers 3 to 2 at Dodger Stadium.

In the 6th inning Montreal scored 2 runs.  The key offensive moment was

provided by Fred Lynn who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he

cleared the fences for a two-run home run.  Los Angeles made it exciting in

the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Jay Tibbs(14-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing 1

run. Tibbs got relief help from Jeff Reardon who gained credit for his 29th

save.  Orel Hershiser(10-12) absorbed the loss.

'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Billy Vanson 'But we

have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
