Ken Hamlin touched them all and had 2 RBI as the WashingtonSenators beat the
New York AL Yankees by a score of 6 to 5.

The deciding run was scored by Washington in the 8th.  Johnny Callison smashed
a solo-shot out of the park (his 30th of the season).  New York AL threatened
in the 9th but Washington was able to put down the rally.

The victory was credited to Don Cardwell(9-9) who went 8 innings, allowing 5
runs. Cardwell got relief help from Ted Abernathy who gained credit for his
30th save.  Whitey Ford(3-10) was the loser.  He served up 3 gopher balls in
8 innings.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said New York AL's manager after
the game.  'We lost this game tonight because we didn't follow the
instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'

Bobby Richardson went deep and scored 3 times as the New York AL Yankees
defeated the Washington Senators 5 to 2 at D.C. Stadium.

Washington fell behind quickly as the New York AL offense came through in the
first inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.  Richardson led off and started the rally
when he drew a walk.  Tony Kubek was next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Felix Mantilla then stroked a one-base hit.  Tom Tresh stepped in and he
slapped a single resulting in a run.  Joe Pepitone came to the plate and
would ground out scoring the final run of the inning.  Washington had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Jim Bouton(3-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing no
runs. Dean Chance(10-9) was the losing pitcher.  With this win, New York AL
has a 58-65 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  With the loss, the
Washington ballclub's record is 61-62.
