Mariners win opener 3-1 behind 7.1 innings of scoreless relief. Les Lancaster comes thru with 4 Solid innings of relief. Game was tied 1-1 going into 6th when Ernie Whitt hit a go ahead solo HR. Darnell Coles then drove in Jay Buhner, who had walked and reached 2nd on a Ron Darling balk. Kirby Puckett and Greg Gagne had 2 hits for the Twins.

Mariners continue win streak with 7-4 win in game 2. Twins squander numerous attempts by leaving 11 runners on base. Twins took a 4-3 lead in the 6th when Gene Larkin had a RBI single followed by a 2 run single from Puckett. Rick Sutcliffe was pushing his luck in the bottom of the inning as Buhner Scored on a pass ball to tie the game. Then Dan Pasqua blasted a 2 run homer to put the M’s ahead to Stay. Kent Hrbek had 3 hits for the Twins.

Mariners pull the sweep with some 10th inning heroics, 5-4. Seatlle jumped to early 3-0 lead in 1st as Cotto doubled and scored on a Bo Jackson single. Kevin Bass then connected on a 2 run homer to give the M’s an early 3-0 lead. Minnesota rallied back in the 5th taking the lead 4-3. Brian Harper had a 3 run homer and that was followed by a RBI by Phil Bradley. Seattle tied the game in the 8th when Bo Jackson reached 3rd on a Bradley 3 base error. Bass then plated Jackson with a sac fly. The game endend quick in the 10th when Jackson hit a game winning homer leading off the inning.
