Jim f*!@#ing Kaat!! With help from his friends Eddie Brinkman and Don Zimmer. Kaat does his perfect Babe Ruth imitation pitching a complete game and going 3 for 3 at the plate with a homerun, triple, single and 5 runs batted in!!!
Jim Kaat completed the game without help from the bullpen and he hit a homerun and had 5 RBI at Metropolitan Stadium where the spectacular Minnesota Twins beat the Washington Senators 8 to 3.
Kaat helped send the fans home happy. He laced a single knocking in a run in the 3rd inning, tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 4th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 7th inning. Minnesota managed 12 in their victory.
The victory was credited to Kaat (19-10) who went the distance, allowing 3 runs. George Brunet (12-13) absorbed the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 9 hits in 6 innings.
