Subject: 1965 World Series GAME FIVE
The Tigers display a little life with help from an uncharacterically shaky Red defense. Deron Johnson commits 2 errors and Tony Perez commits another. It also helped that Aguirre was able to tame the 2-man wrecking crew of Rose and Harper. Harper's at .438 (.591 OB%) and Rose has a .478 BA. For the Tigers Mack Jones continues to do his best "Winfield" with 1 hit in 17 at-bats. Reds lead series 3-2 GAME SIX Thursday night at 10 pm ET in the #presmiley chat room BOXSCORE: 1965 Detroit Tigers At 1965 Cincinnati Reds 10/11/1965 Tigers AB R H RBI AVG Reds AB R H RBI AVG D.McAuliffe SS 1 1 0 0 .154 T.Harper LF 4 0 1 0 .438 A-J.Wood PH 1 1 1 21.000 V.Pinson CF 4 0 0 0 .158 B-B.Wine SS 1 0 0 0 .000 P.Rose 2B 4 1 1 0 .478 J.Lumpe 2B 4 0 0 0 .167 D.Pavletich C 4 1 2 2 .278 A.Kaline RF 5 0 1 0 .263 D.Johnson 3B 3 0 1 0 .313 N.Cash 1B 4 2 1 1 .250 R.Colavito RF 3 0 1 0 .316 E.Mathews 3B 2 1 0 0 .313 L.Cardenas SS 3 0 0 0 .350 W.Horton LF 4 0 2 1 .400 I-G.Coleman PH 1 0 0 0 .143 C-D.Demeter CF 0 0 0 0 .286 T.Perez 1B 2 0 0 0 .333 M.Jones CF,LF 3 1 0 0 .059 D-T.Helms PH 1 0 0 0 .500 B.Freehan C 3 0 1 1 .333 G-V.Power 1B 1 0 0 0 .000 H.Aguirre P 3 1 1 0 .250 S.Ellis P 2 0 1 0 .250 R.Kline P 0 0 0 0 ---- B.Henry P 0 0 0 0 ---- H-T.Conigliaro PH 1 0 1 0 .375 E-G.Goossen PH 0 0 0 0 .000 L.Sherry P 0 0 0 0 ---- F-A.Shamsky PH 1 0 0 0 .000 T.Fox P 0 0 0 0 ---- B.McCool P 0 0 0 0 ---- J-K.Boyer PH 1 0 0 0 .333 -- -- -- --- -- -- -- --- Totals 32 7 8 5 Totals 34 2 7 2 A-Pinch Hit For McAuliffe In 6th Inning B-Subbed Defensively (SS) For Wood In 6th Inning C-Subbed Defensively (CF) For Horton In 7th Inning D-Pinch Hit For Perez In 7th Inning E-Pinch Hit For Henry In 7th Inning F-Pinch Hit For Goossen In 7th Inning G-Subbed Defensively (1B) For Helms In 8th Inning H-Pinch Hit For Kline In 8th Inning I-Pinch Hit For Cardenas In 9th Inning J-Pinch Hit For McCool In 9th Inning Tigers.......... 2 0 0 0 0 4 1 0 0 - 7 8 0 Reds............ 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 - 2 7 3 Tigers (2-3) IP H R ER BB SO HR PC ERA SCORESHEET H.Aguirre WIN(1-1) 6 2/3 5 1 1 1 3 1 103 3.86 A1 C8 R.Kline 0 1/3 0 0 0 0 1 0 3 12.00 C9 C9 L.Sherry 1 2 1 1 1 1 0 32 4.15 D1 D6 T.Fox 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 12 0.00 D7 Totals 9 7 2 2 2 6 1 Reds (3-2) IP H R ER BB SO HR PC ERA SCORESHEET S.Ellis LOSS(1-1) 5 2/3 5 5 4 7 2 0 124 4.63 A1 C9 B.Henry 1 1/3 2 2 1 0 1 1 17 3.00 D1 D7 B.McCool 2 1 0 0 0 2 0 24 11.57 D8 Totals 9 8 7 5 7 5 1 ATTENDANCE- 47,852 DATE- Monday, October 11th 1965 TIME- Day WEATHER- Average T- 2:11 LEFT ON BASE- Tigers: 7 Reds: 7 DOUBLE PLAYS- Tigers: 0 Reds: 1 ERRORS- D.Johnson-2, T.Perez DOUBLES- J.Wood(1st), T.Conigliaro(1st), P.Rose(2nd) HOME RUNS- N.Cash(3rd), D.Pavletich(1st) SACRIFICE HITS- J.Lumpe SACRIFICE FLIES- B.Freehan WALKS- D.McAuliffe-2, N.Cash, E.Mathews-3, M.Jones, D.Johnson, R.Colavito STRIKE OUTS- A.Kaline, N.Cash, E.Mathews, W.Horton, M.Jones, V.Pinson, D.Johnson, L.Cardenas, S.Ellis, A.Shamsky, K.Boyer GIDP- H.Aguirre The Detroit Tigers cruised to a 7 to 2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Crosley Field.
