as the St. Louis Cardinals came back to
win one over Montreal Expos, 3 to
2.
St.
Louis came through with the game-winning
runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning with 2 runs. Terry
Pendleton led off and started the attack as he
drew a walk. Jerry Reed then
was wild with a pitch. Scott Fletcher then
drew a walk. Ozzie Smith
followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Pena
came up to bat and lined a base-hit
making St. Louis the winners and
sending
the 29,792 fans home happy.

innings allowing no runs for the victory.

Valdez and Pena were really whooping

Jose Deleon had an impressive outing
as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the
Montreal Expos in 10 innings by a
score of 1 to 0.
The score was a scoreless tie after
nine. St.
Louis won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning.
After an out was recorded, Sergio Valdez
delivered a one-base hit.
Vince Coleman next to the plate and he doubled.
Milt Thompson then ripped a single
giving St. Louis
the win as 40,144 happy
fans joyfully celebrated.

The score was knotted at 5 after

contest in the 15th inning.
After an out was recorded, Donell Nixon slapped
a base-hit. One out later, Ken
Caminiti came to the plate and lashed a
single. Pedro Guerrero then
banged out a single making St. Louis the
victor
and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. This was the kind of game that
many fans love as the lead changed
hands 5 times.
