Well Jeff Reardon choked on the big one in game 4 allowing 4 runs in the 9th inning as Oakland came back to win 8-4. Oakland led 4-2 heading into the 6th inning before Minnesota tied it up 4-4. 3 straight base hits and a sac fly scored the 2 runs.
Minnesota added 2 runs in the 7th as Jim Dwyer and Gary Gaetti reached before Harold Baines committed a run error scoring both runners. Game going pretty smooth now. Terry Leach pitches a scoreless 8th and the Twins lead 6-4 heading to the bottom of the 9th. Enter Jeff Reardon, saver of 44 games this year. With one out Harold Baines doubled and then Mark McGwire proceeds to hit a 2 run BP homer (1-7, Mac gets the 6 roll). Tie game now. Carney Lansford then singles and steals 2nd. Then Terry Steinbach connects on a 2 run homer off of Reardon's card (HR8DO, 6 roll) to end game as Oakland regains the tie for first place.
