Eddie Murray collected 2 extra-base hits and scored 3 times as the Los Angeles
Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants by the score of 5 to 1 at
Candlestick Park.
Los Angeles took the lead for good in the 4th inning plating one baserunner.
Murray tripled.  Two outs later Kelly Downs came up and he had one get away
for a wild pitch.  Los Angeles rapped out 10 hits for the night. 
Oil Can Boyd(4-4) went 6 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Boyd got
relief help from Tim Crews who gained credit for his 4th save.  Downs(0-3)
was tagged with the loss. 
The Los Angeles ballclub's record now stands at 33-38.  San Francisco has a
record of 33-38 after the loss.

What an evening for the Los Angeles Dodgers! They shellacked the San Francisco
Giants pitching for 9 runs while Jim Deshaies(4-5)with bullpen help held San
Francisco to 1 run.
Deshaies pitched a fine game.  He allowed 5 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3
innings.  Deshaies mowed down 7 San Francisco batters lowering his ERA to
4.18.  Los Angeles had 12 hits overall, while San Francisco had 6. 
The loss was charged to Rick Reuschel(1-3).  He pitched 5 innings allowing 7
hits and 2 walks.

Erik Hanson blanked Los Angeles allowing just 2 hits as the San Francisco
Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3 to 0 at Candlestick
Park.
Hanson(7-2) was tremendous on the mound for San Francisco.  He surrendered
only 2 hits and no walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 3.35 to 3.07.
San Francisco had only 3 hits for the night. 
Mike Hartley(0-1) took the loss.  'I've been working on a few things in my
delivery, and I think I'm hitting a good groove.' Hanson said after the game.
'I'm ready to start another game tomorrow!'

Matt Williams knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Scott Garrelts allowed Pat
Carr to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the San Francisco Giants
defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6 to 2 at Candlestick Park.
The San Francisco fans enjoyed the offense provided by Williams.  He lined a
one-base hit in the 1st inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in
the 3rd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 7th inning.  San
Francisco banged out 12 hits on the afternoon. 
Garrelts(5-5) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Mark
Langston(7-9) was the losing pitcher.  He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and
5 walks in 7 innings. 
Wth the win San Francisco now has a record of 35-39.  Los Angeles has a record
of 34-40 after the loss.
