Eddie Murray collected 2 extra-base hits and scored 3 times as the Los Angeles
Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants by the score of 5 to 1 at
Candlestick Park.
Los Angeles took the lead for good in the 4th inning plating one baserunner.
Murray tripled. Two outs later Kelly Downs came up and he had one get away
for a wild pitch. Los Angeles rapped out 10 hits for the night.
Oil Can Boyd(4-4) went 6 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Boyd got
relief help from Tim Crews who gained credit for his 4th save. Downs(0-3)
was tagged with the loss.

Erik Hanson blanked Los Angeles allowing just 2 hits as the San Francisco
Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3 to 0 at Candlestick
Park.
Hanson(7-2) was tremendous on the mound for San Francisco. He surrendered
only 2 hits and no walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 3.35 to 3.07.
San Francisco had only 3 hits for the night.
Mike Hartley(0-1) took the loss. 'I've been working on a few things in my
delivery, and I think I'm hitting a good groove.' Hanson said after the game.
